PDI's Case Managers and Prevention Educators seek to end tooth decay.
Reaching Out to Our Community
Our Prevention Education programs seek to improve long-term dental health in young children, and in children with developmental disabilities. Our Promotores Dentales extend the reach of PDI's existing case management and in-house education programs. They provide culturally appropriate services and serve as patient advocates, educators, mentors, outreach worker, and translators. They are often the bridge between the community and the healthcare system.
PDI's Case Managers act as problem solvers for referring agencies, families, the community, and the surgery center, and working to assist families with gaining access to dental services under general anesthesia.
Their duties also include:
Providing interpretive services
Arranging transportation for clients to and from the center
Securing lodging if necessary
Determining eligibility ensuring that required forms are filled out and submitted
Ensuring that patients are enrolled in health insurance prior to treatment
